In conjunction with the holy month, we were honoured to collaborate with Ustaz Yazid Hamka in a special Ramadhan podcast series, designed to explore the relationship between emotional wellbeing, faith, and inner resilience.
Creating Space for Reflection
Ramadhan is often experienced as a time of pause—an opportunity to reconnect with oneself beyond the demands of daily life. Through this podcast series, we aimed to create a space for thoughtful reflection on themes that are both spiritually grounding and psychologically relevant.
Together with Ustaz Yazid Hamka, the discussions explored:
The role of sabr (patience) in managing emotional challenges
Understanding inner struggles through both spiritual and psychological lenses
The importance of intentional living and self-awareness
Strengthening one’s sense of purpose and meaning
Bridging Faith and Mental Health
A key focus of the series was to bridge traditional spiritual teachings with contemporary mental health understanding.
From our perspective, many emotional experiences—such as stress, anxiety, and inner conflict—can be approached not only through clinical frameworks, but also through values rooted in faith, including:
Reflection (muhasabah)
Gratitude (syukur)
Trust in process (tawakkul)
This integration allows individuals to approach their wellbeing in a more holistic and sustainable way.
Conversations That Resonate Beyond Ramadhan
While the series was centred around Ramadhan, the insights shared remain relevant beyond the month itself.
Listeners are encouraged to carry forward key reflections, including:
Slowing down and creating space for stillness
Becoming more aware of internal states and reactions
Aligning daily actions with personal values and intentions
Our Ongoing Commitment
This collaboration reflects The Hour Mental Care’s continued commitment to:
Expanding mental health conversations into culturally and spiritually relevant spaces
Making psychological insights more accessible to the community
Supporting individuals in building both emotional and inner resilience
Moving Forward
We extend our sincere appreciation to Ustaz Yazid Hamka for his valuable insights and collaboration in this meaningful series.
As we move forward, we remain committed to creating spaces where mental health and spiritual wellbeing can be explored together—with depth, balance, and intention.
